Battery related dangerous goods regulations

David Reiter

CEO, Founder at Lokistix

About

Transportation of batteries (lithium-ion, sodium-ion, lithium-metal) is predominantly regulated by the ADR, a regulatory book that defines how to handle different types of batteries in different stages of their lifecycle. As such, the ADR defines handling of new batteries, prototypes, recycling or waste batteries, damaged and defective as well as critically defective batteries. ADR is valid for street transport and is used as base for regulations of other modes of transportation. Different transport regulations are defined by:

  • ADR: Street

  • RID: Rail

  • IMDG: Sea

  • IATA: Air

All our products are designed based on extensive experience and market feedback, taking every voice along the supply chain into account. All our solutions are compliant for transportation and storage. Our expertise in the field of dangerous goods is reflected in our products, but we also share it and consult, if appropriate.
