Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications

The Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications was created by Decree Law No. 557, published in the Diario Oficial on July 10, 1974.

Its main functions are to propose national policies on transport and telecommunications, in accordance with government directives, and to exercise direction and oversight over their implementation; to supervise public and private companies that operate means of transport and communications in the country; and to coordinate and promote the development of these activities and oversee compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
