My organisation
The Metro de Santiago is the most important public transport connectivity axis in the city of Santiago. It is one of the most modern and extensive metro networks in Latin America. The system began operating in 1975 and has since grown to include seven lines (Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 4A, 5, and 6) covering more than 149 kilometers and serving 143 stations. The Metro plays a key role in the city’s public transportation system, connecting with buses and suburban trains through the RED Integrated Transport Network. It transports more than two million passengers per day, providing a fast, safe, and efficient way to travel across the city. Known for its cleanliness, punctuality, and cultural displays, the Metro de Santiago features murals, art installations, and historical exhibits that reflect Chilean culture and identity. Recent expansions and the introduction of driverless trains on some lines show the system’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
